Are you jealous yet? Hey, it’s Oregon in April. What did I expect? Actually, we’ve had a marvelous run of Oregon April weather and have had lots of adventures. We’ve hiked the Redwoods, we’ve walked the beaches, we’ve seen lighthouses, we’ve seen huge waves, we’ve seen crabs unloaded on the docks, we’ve seen starfish clinging to the rocks, we’ve had pretty good weather for 21 days. But the next 7 days look like: bookkeeping, RV maintenance, trip planning, letter writing, etc. Indoor tasks.
Today we moved 42 big miles from North Bend to Florence, OR in the sun. The forecast said that the rain might start about dinner time so, after we set up and had lunch, we took the opportunity to walk on the beach. As we were getting ready, the rain began but, hey, it’s just rain. We can dry off later and run our wet clothes through the dryer. We drove down to the jetty and walked along the beach, watching the waves roll in. This is a beautiful sand dune area called the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Tall dunes covered with beach grasses, long sandy beach - really neat, even in the rain. We saw all kinds and shapes of driftwood and even saw a guy carrying off one piece in his truck as we were leaving. But after walking 2 miles in the rain down the beach, we decided to get the other side of our pants wet and turned inland, found a trail over the dunes and walked back along the road.
Now, we’ve had our chili, our clothes are drying off, the heater is on and we’re relaxing, listening to the patter of raindrops on our roof.
Jealous Yet?
