Hey, it’s Valentines Day today. Maybe you think it was yesterday but Gary and I celebrate it today, half-price candy day. I told Gary a long time ago that I could buy one box of candy on Feb 14, Valentines Day OR buy 2 boxes on Feb. 15, the day after. Guess what he chose? You betcha. And today we walked into town to find the Walgreens and CVS stores.
Then off to the Rockabilly Reunion.
Hey, Nancy and Gary, you aren’t in Iowa any more. Boy, did we ever dress wrong. We did not have the right costume on. I was surprised at the number of people who dressed for the day. Mostly women but there were quite a few guys dressed too.
There were a lot of vendors who actually sold suitable clothing for the event.
They even had salons where you could get your hair done.
And buy the right products to do your ‘do. (We even saw some Brylcreme being sold.)
And, of course there were the cars:
I’m not big for cars: to me a car is useful to get you somewhere. But these cars were something else. Look at that Ford Fairlane above.
And, here’s a cute little refurbished RV.
All done up outside and in.
A pin-up contest.
We had a great time even in our hiking shorts, shirts and hats. And, by the way, we were not the only ones dressed like that. There was one other couple that we saw. But they were old fogies. Hey, wait, so are we.
