Hey, these 3 old bodies are tired so we’re taking a day off before we start up again. We have lots to catch up on with Tom and he’s got laundry to do. He’s also trying to get the optimum packing scheme down pat for his bike ride. We did some work around the RV, made some phone calls and then went for a walk while Tom went for a bike ride (what else?) We drove over to the park and the trails along the road between the campground and the Visitor Center and shops. I like this trail: level and paved. But the area is stupendous, hiking midst these marvelous tall stately trees.
And across this stream.
We circled by the campground and found this elegantly designed RV. That is all inlaid wood and shiny? I could almost see my reflection in it.
The beach on Lake McDonald had awesome views but the water was a bit chilly.
Here are some of the early settlers in Apgar Village, where the stores, motel and ice cream is. You didn’t think we’d hike without this did you?
In the evening, while I washed the dishes, Tom and Gary played the Mac computer. Actually, we had sold my old computer to Tom and Gary was showing him some things on it.
Gary and I have been hiking in areas that do not have mosquitoes and we hadn't been wearing any bug spray. Our hike yesterday took us into mosquito territory and they saw us as fresh meat. Today, Gary counted the welts on his leg while I counted them on my hairline. Vicious.
