Cape Hatteras, NC - Any Day at the Beach is a Good Day

Today was just a play day: no RV washing, no laundry, no shopping, no museums, no lighthouses, just a fun day on the beach and around Cape Hatteras.

We saw a pier with lots of boats for tourists to try to catch marlin. I’ll bet this pier is busy at 5:00 am on a summer day.

Gary did catch - this plastic fish. Tuna fish sandwich anyone?

What a wonderful walk along the beach.

As we walked down the beach we saw quite a few black shark egg sacs

and several whelk egg sacs.

I’ve looked at the sand just about every time we walk the beach. I’ve always wanted to find a conch shell. Never. I’ve seen some broken ones but never one that is whole. Until I walked out of the bathroom at the marina and a woman showed me the one she had just found - whole, 9” long and very cool. I guess that’s the only way I’ll ever see one - in someone else’s hands.

You might think that this looks like a bad hair day but it really is a ‘Good Beach Day’.

We found this chair on the way back - at one of the very many tourist shops. Now, how will I ever get out of this?

I’m an old History teacher, I look at the past - I fill in our RV map with states that we’ve visited. Gary, on the other hand looks at the future - he wants to know what our goals are: the states NOT on our RV map - the states we still need to visit.
