We always seem to find some neat places to hike around where ever we land. After we had visited the Wright Brothers Memorial, we found a small park near there with some interesting trails. We got there and found this sticker on the back of a car from Charleston, SC. As I was taking this picture, the owner of the car walked up with her family and asked if I liked her sticker. We then chatted about how we liked the sticker and that we think more cities should introduce this type of civic pride campaign.
Then our hike at the Nags Head, NC Woods managed by the Nature Conservancy. Nice trails, around some short hills and some fresh water ponds. First time I’ve seen a fire hydrant along the trail but it makes sense. My next question is how the fire truck gets to it. But that’s for another day
We then found some graves of a family named who used to own this land.
And, finally got out to the sound side of Cape Hatteras. There is the ocean side and the sound side.
I liked these trees near the water’s edge. Note how the water has undermined their roots.
Absolutely beautiful hike through some neat woods. And we thought the Cape Hatteras was all beach.
Then back to the RV for this picture in the sun.
‘We live in a fast-paced society. Walking slows us down.
