As you know, we had problems with a part in our RV, one they changed in 2010, the year after our RV was manufactured. They new part they designed is much heaver, thicker and much better designed. But, you can decide for yourselves. Here are pictures of the two parts side by side. I’m sure you can tell which is which and not just by the dirt and use.
Speaking of nature, we walked a trail where the beaver had been quite active. These were cut down by small beaver since the grooves show that they had small teeth.
If we had had time, we might have climbed this mountain which towers over Whitehorse.
Then we also found an eagle’s nest - with the help of a woman who was sitting on a bench looking up at it. Here we are up on the cliff looking down at the parking lot where we met her.
She told us that we could climb up to the cliff above the nest and actually look down into it. Here you can see some fluffy little things - I think there are 4 all together.
And, here is one of them standing in the nest looking at the others.
The mother and father returned to bring food in. Here you can see the white head of one of them.
One year the eagle nest and it’s tree fell down so the town put together another next.
The eagles observed it for a few years and then began to use it. But, then they switched to a high tree on the cliff across a highway. Much more remote, quieter and less likely to have curious hikers take pictures.
We could have enjoyed Whitehorse much more if we hadn’t had such problems here. It’s a cool city with great civic pride, great trails and we enjoyed the people we met. But, I’ll be glad to get on our way.
Poor lonely RV.
