Breakfast out today - at the Burnt Toast Restaurant.
Very good, as the Yelp reviews said it would be. Potatoes cooked just right with some scallions, a spinach/feta cheese scramble and very good toast with peanut butter and jelly. I’ve noticed that the Canadians put peanut butter on the table along with the jam. Great idea. It's a breakfast bistro flavor with Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and 'Stars Fell on Alabama' playing in the background. The the mechanics got right to it and they guaranteed that we would be done today. And, we were. They wrapped it up, idled the engine to ensure that the fan came on, it did and we were ready to go. Oops, now we have to pay. And, through the nose we did, but we were so happy that Freightliner paid the $1600 for the part itself. We’ll take the rest up with Good Sam soon.
Gary got into the RV, I got into the Jeep and we drove to where we could get propane. Then I went to the grocery store while Gary headed back to the campground. When I got there, he was waiting for me.
‘Let’s take a ride, I got a strange signal and heard a strange noise and want to check it out.’
I followed him and, boy, did I hear a strange noise coming form our RV. Sounded like a jet on take-off. Loud, raspy and not like how our engine usually sounds. But only when he accelerated. Gary also noted that he had no get up and go. He could hardly get up a hill called 2-mile hill.
We turned around, I listened some more, we pulled into the campground and our site. Gotta go back to Freightliner tomorrow.
He hooked up ou rutilities, we ate, showered and he then unhooked them so we can be at Frieightliner by 8:00 when they open.
Just can’t get out of Dodge, or, in this case, Whitehorse.
Since you've been in Whitehorse, have you run into Sergeant Preston, his horse, Rex, or his dog,Yukon King??
