And, here is Pyramid Mt. surrounded by all the red rock cliffs and canyons. We climbed that on Wednesday. Beautiful 360 degree views from its peak. It dominates the skyline for miles around. We kept hearing it calling: ‘climb me’, ‘climb me’, ‘climb me’. And, of course, you know, we climbed it the next day. And, hey, you can see the shadow of 'Over The Wall' in the picture also. Perfect.

Gallup, NM - Flyin' High 2 (pictures)
Here are Jeff and me in his balloon, Off The Wall. I think I’m leaning down to pet Bandit who was a perfect passenger in the balloon. He never barked, never jumped up on the basket sides and just lay there sleeping for a good bit of the flight. He’s peobably so used to all this that he’s blase about it now. Me, I’m still in awe.
Another picture further out. Good picture showing the balloon in all its parts silhouetted against the red rock cliffs and the green shrubbery. Jeff is trying to skim the mezquite to get over to a flat area to land. I’m looking down at a jackrabbit with the longest ears who is hopping ahead of our balloon along a 2-rut road, trying to get out of our way. He finally bounded off to the left and we lost him. Or, I guess I should say, he got rid of us.
Could we have had a more perfect day or more breath-taking backdrop for our first flight?
Looking down into the canyons as we floated over them.
If you look closely, you can see a person in a red jacket in the middle right hiking up the Pyramid Mt. Trail. We’ll be on that tomorrow.

Here’s Mike’s balloon with Gary in it. That rope off to the right, is attached to some flaps at the top of Jeff’s balloon and, when he pulls it, the flaps open and let the air out so we can go lower.
Marvelous experience and we have to thank Mike and Jeff for being so generous with their time. Thanks, guys, you made our bucket list shorter.
