Oh, boy, it’s food time. Yep, it’s a sunny Saturday and time for the Farmer’s Market. We’ve been to several in the San Diego area and think that the Little Italy is the biggest and we’re off. There are lots of crowds every time we’ve gone to the market. Beautiful sunny day and the stalls are filled.
We’re out here in California and there are lots of foods that are a bit strange to us - like:
Coffee on ‘nitro’ sound somewhat potent. And what is ‘Probiotic kefir soda’. I’d rather have a tenderloin with pickles, ketchup and mustard.
But, hey, I recognize all of these - so colorful.
Pita bread and hummus - very popular here.
But it’s not all food. Here’s a game of abilities. The game is to choose your own weight from the weights in front and see how many times you can lift it. This young woman made 29 times. I’m not sure what prize she’ll earn but I’m thinking she needs an ice cream by now.
There is always music from several corners of the market. A little bluegrass here.
We had coffee, I bought some broccoli, cauliflower, pitas and, spinach but it was the atmosphere, the people watching, the sunny day which all combined to make it lots of fun.
‘You can always find free cheese in a mousetrap.’
