San Diego, CA - Chocolate Overload

Here it is Valentines Day and we’re going out. Well, doesn’t everyone go out for a meal on Valentines Day? Well, first you notice that this is 2/15, the day after Valentines and then you note that we had breakfast out. And, you’re thinking: these two just don’t get it. They must be living in an alternate universe.

Yep, we’re going out for breakfast and - we’re walking up to it. A new place that just opened last fall. One of the premier places to eat breakfast on Pacific Beach is at Konos. We’ve been there but it’s small and a bit crowded. Real beach vibe. Perfect for young people. This is Konitos, little Konos, owned by the same people but not on the beach. Bigger and quieter. Perfect for older people. And, believe you me - just about everyone there was close to our age, Nice walk. And, we had a very good breakfast: scrambled eggs, potatoes and toast. Ah, but the scrambled eggs has veggies and cheese mixed in as did the potatoes. And, check that muffin. As good as it looks. Homemade. Good breakfast.

Price - very good for the amount of food we got. We got hit with a $30 bill at our ‘favorite’ Pacific Beach restaurant but got crunchy greasy potatoes bits the last time we went so we’re open to a new restaurant.

Next - the candy. Yep, pay full price on Valentines Day or half-price the next day. Count us thrifty.

Our first option was this box. Whoo-eee. Nope, way too big.

Finally, we found some our size.

We didn’t find it 70% off - just 50% but what’s not to like about that? Get more that way. We bought 3 boxes - and a small truffle for extras.

Then, several days later, we went to the nearest grocery store, Von’s, and found the price at $3.00 per box. Good grief. Gotta get these. Enough candy for - at least a week.

OK, now we’ve had breakfast and dessert, time for some work.

At the RV show in Quartzsite I bought some stuff to polish my corian counter tops which were looking a bit used. Here I am with the drill with the polish on the wheel and I’m buffing. Look how they shine in the sun!! I'm gonna need dark glasses to cook.

Now, this stuff, Flitz, is not just a one-use product. Next are the hubcaps. And, Gary, who really was not in the mood to do this, got all 8 hubcaps done, 4 on the Jeep and 4 on the RV.

Me, I wanted to look busy whenever he came inside - so I picked up the dust mop whenever he entered the house.
